¾«¶«´«Ã½app Indigenous Summer School (NISS)

Together with our experienced NISS team and support of the seven academic ANU Colleges, we will assist you in challenging times, as human beings inevitably face in our journey through life.
This week-long Summer School will run from November 30 to December 7, 2024 to provide learning experiences to help inform education and career aspirations and goals. Students will participate in a program of hands-on activities from a range of discipline fields on the theme.
Expert academic staff, Indigenous university students and staff will mentor participants through a fun-filled program in the nation's capital, which promises rewarding experiences on and off campus.
The Tjabal Centre and ANU Colleges cover costs for accommodation, transport to and from Canberra, catering and workshop materials. Participating students are required to organise their own transport to and from your local airport. All students will travel to Canberra late afternoon on Saturday 30 November and return the morning of Saturday 7 December 2024.
There are two streams running in the Summer School with 15 places in each: the Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine (STEMM) stream and the Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (HASS) stream. You can only select one Summer School stream to attend.
To be considered for one of the 30 spots in the Summer School, you need to be:
• A current Year 10 or 11 student in Australia (Year 12 students will be considered)
• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
• Interested in science, technology, engineering, mathematics or medicine
• Interested in arts, cultural studies, history, social studies, languages, business, commerce or law
Applications can be downloaded on the right-hand-side of your screen, under 'Reference Documents' or you can submit and online application using this . Applications are due Friday 31 May 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by July 2024.
