We’re on a mission to reconnect with our ducks around the world — and that includes you! Whether you’ve waddled far or stayed close to the pond, we’d love to hear from you. Update your details and help us keep you connected to the ANU community. By updating your details, you’ll unlock access to exclusive career development opportunities, alumni networks, leadership events, and ways to stay engaged with ANU — wherever life takes you.
Plus, you’ll go into the draw to win some fantastic prizes, including:
- $250 AUD Mastercard gift card: perfect for your next tech upgrade or a well-earned treat.
- ANU Alumni merchandise pack: show off your ANU pride wherever you are in the world.
- Name an ANU duckling: enjoy the unique chance to name a real ANU duckling and receive a personalised Duck Naming Certificate to commemorate it (don’t worry — the ducklings will stay happily on campus!). 
Eligible Entrants | Entry is open to alumni of The Australian ¾«¶«´«Ã½app University (ANU) who are not ANU staff during any part of the Competition Period.
A maximum of one (1) entry per person will be accepted. |
Competition Period | The competition starts at 12.00am on 30 April 2025 AEST and closes at 11.59pm on 16 May 2025 AEST.  |
Prize | Intotal, four (4) prizes will be awarded, with one prize per person per winner. Prizes include: two (2) $250 AUD ²Ñ²¹²õ³Ù±ð°ù³¦²¹°ù»å® gift cards from Card.Gift, one (1) ANU Alumni merchandise pack, and one (1) ANU duck naming certificate.  The ANU duck naming certificate gives winners the special opportunity to name an ANU duckling. Winners will receive a certificate commemorating their chosen duckling name. Please note all named ducklings must remain on ANU campus. ²Ñ²¹²õ³Ù±ð°ù³¦²¹°ù»å²õ® by Card.Gift valued at AUD $250.00.

ANU is solely responsible for the organising, administering, and fulfilling the contest. The contest and contest organisations are not in any way affiliated with Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn or Twitter/X.

Entry Process | The competition will run online via the distribution of email communications, and social media advertising. 
To enter the competition, you must, during the Competition Period:
Entry is limited to one (1) per person and multiple entries will be deemed invalid. |
Selection of Winners | The prize winner will be randomly selected from the valid entries received. The draw will take place at a premise nominated by ANU by 4.30pm on 17 May 2025 AEST. |
Announcement of winners | The winner will be notified by email within two (2) business days of the end of the Competition Period using the contact details provided at the time of entry. ²Ñ²¹²õ³Ù±ð°ù³¦²¹°ù»å® by Card.Gift will be sent directly to the winners’ email addresses following confirmation of arrangements made directly with the winners.  The ANU Alumni merchandise pack and ANU duck naming certificate will be mailed to the postal addresses confirmed by the respective winners.   The names of the winner will be published on the ANU Alumni Facebook page () and included in the thank you email message to all contestant participants. |
The promoter of the prize draw is The Australian ¾«¶«´«Ã½app University (ABN 52 234 063 906) (ANU) of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory 2600, Australia. Information on how to enter this competition and prize details published by ANU form part of these terms and conditions of entry (Terms).
All entrants agree to the Terms upon submitting their entry. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, Australia. If any of these Terms are or become invalid, at the option of ANU, the relevant part is severed and doesn’t affect the validity of the remaining parts.
Entries must be received during the Competition Period. Entries will be deemed to be accepted at the time of receipt and not at the time of transmission. Incomplete, inaudible or incomprehensible entries will be deemed invalid. No responsibility will be taken by ANU for lost, late or misdirected entries.
ANU reserves the right to: a) cancel, terminate, delay, modify or suspend the prize draw at any time; b) withdraw the invitation to participate from any person, including where that person incorrectly receives an invitational email; and c) amend or vary these Terms during the Competition Period.
The winner(s) will be chosen as outlined in the above details.
Prizes must be taken as offered and are not redeemable for cash or an alternative prize. Prizes are not transferable. If, however, substitution of a/the prize must occur, the winner must agree in writing, and the prize must be of the same, or greater, value than the original.
ANU reserves the right to reasonably disqualify any entry or entrants at its discretion at any time.
Decisions made by ANU on all aspects relating to this competition is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
ANU may request further information from the prize winner to confirm the prize winner’s entry is eligible and complies with these Terms. This may include, for example, requesting proof of identity.
By entering, entrants:
confirm that any content they submit is original and does not infringe the intellectual property rights or any other rights of third parties;
grant ANU a perpetual, royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide, non-exclusive licence (with the right to sub-licence) to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, communicate with the public and otherwise exploit the submission content in any media for any purpose (including to advertise or promote any ANU products or services);
consent to any act or omission by ANU that would otherwise infringe any moral rights that may subsist in the entry; and
agree to sign any further documentation required by ANU to give effect to this clause.
It is the entrant’s responsibility to ensure they are readily contactable through the information provided at the time of entry.
If a winner was readily contactable and does not respond to claim the prize within 5 business days of ANU making reasonable attempts to contact the winner, the winner forfeits the prize. If this occurs, ANU may conduct a re-draw and offer the prize to other entrants until a valid winner has been contacted. The newly drawn winner will be contacted using the contact details provided at the time of entry.
Unless otherwise agreed, ANU will send the prize to an agreed postal address nominated by the winner.
The ANU accepts no responsibility and shall not be held legally liable or responsible for any accident, loss, injury or damage to any individual or property whether direct or indirect, whether in contract, tort, negligence or otherwise arising out of or in connection with the competition or the prize, either during or after the competition.
Without limiting clause 15, ANU makes no representations or warranties as to the quality, suitability or merchantability of any goods or services offered as prizes. To the extent permitted by law, ANU is not liable for any loss suffered to person or property by reason of any act or omission, deliberate or negligent, by ANU or its employees or agents, in connection with the arrangement for the supply of goods and services by any person to the prize winner, and where applicable, to any persons accompanying the prize winner. This clause does not affect any rights a consumer may have which are unable to be excluded under Australian law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability of ANU or its employees or agents for breach of any such rights is limited to the payment of the costs of having the prize supplied again.
Entrants' personal information may be collected by ANU and may be disclosed to ANU contractors and agents (including without limitation marketing and promotional agencies, information technology providers and database service providers) to conduct, administer and publicise this competition and for future marketing and promotional purposes and used in accordance with the . If an entrant does not provide the personal information requested by ANU, or it is inaccurate or incomplete, ANU may determine that the entrant is ineligible to win a prize.
