[ON DEMAND] Pride in ANU Academia – Our ANU LGBTQIA+ community
Join our ANU LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network as we spotlight some of the best LGBTQIA+ minds from ANU.
Part lecture, part networking, this event will begin the Pride in ANU Academia series - connecting our ANU alumni with key academic discussions on a range of LGBTQIA+ topics.
Launching our Pride in ANU Academia Lecture Series, Professor David Plummer AM (PhD '98), will explore the journey from HIV to COVID, making comparisons between the two.
David is an international development consultant, Adjunct Professor in Public Health at James Cook University in tropical north Queensland and former member of the ANU LGBTQIA+ Alumni Network. David holds a PhD in health sociology from the ¾«¶«´«Ã½app Centre for Epidemiology and Population Health at the Australian ¾«¶«´«Ã½app University.
David was the first joint Commonwealth & UNESCO Caribbean Chair in Education for several years at the University of the West Indies, where he led the multi-country 'Caribbean Masculinities Project'. He was also the first ¾«¶«´«Ã½app President of the Australian Federation of AIDS Organisations (AFAO). In 2003, David was made a Member of the Order of Australia for services to public and community health.
